Requirements:

Use INT 0x10, AH=0x0E to display text characters
Use INT 0x10, AH=0x09 to display colored characters
Use INT 0x16, AH=0x00 to read keyboard input
Implement a simple echo program (read char, print char)
Display a colored message using different attributes
Handle special keys (Enter, Backspace)
Print a welcome message and wait for keypress
Show understanding of BIOS calling conventions
Use inline assembly or C compiler with asm support

Why This Matters

INT 0x10 and INT 0x16 are exactly what every 16-bit boot-sector project on the OSDev wiki forum uses to print status text and read keys before a filesystem driver even exists, and Ralf Brown's Interrupt List remains the canonical reference every bootloader author keeps open. GRUB's legacy BIOS boot path and DOS-era tools all lean on this same register-in-AH calling convention.
