Why This Matters

no_std is how Rust runs on microcontrollers, in bootloaders (Oreboot), inside the Linux kernel, and in WebAssembly runtimes — anywhere the standard library's OS assumptions do not hold. The embedded-Rust ecosystem (Embassy, RTIC) and Google's KataOS are all built on the panic-handler-and-core discipline you set up here.
